Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk to hold on March 10th 2018 in 10 Nigerian Cities

Afterschool Centre for Career Development is a capacity development organization committed to assisting young persons in transitional stages of their lives set goals and walks them through the achievement of such goals. The Centre provides growth opportunities and self as well as career development interventions for and with young people enabling them transit seamlessly from school to work.

As part of its objectives to proving learning and mentoring opportunities for young women in Nigeria, Afterschool Centre for Career Development is partnering with the Vital Voices Global Partnership to lead the 2018 Women Mentoring Women Walk  in Nigeria.

The Vital Voices Global partnership envisions a community of empowered women living lives worthy of emulation and aims to inspire a new cadre of women leaders/entrepreneurs. As part of its effort to celebrate the annual International Women’s Day – March 8th 2018;Vital Voices is partnering with Afterschool Centre for Career Development and other leading Nigerian brands to celebrate the Women’s week  through the Global Mentoring Walk scheduled to hold in 10 cities in Nigeria.

The 2018 Global Mentoring Walk will connect Nigeria’s leading women business leaders with emerging business women around the country to amplify the significance of all women – supporting the cause Women Mentoring Women (WMW) irrespective of vocation or creed. This Walk will be bringing together 500 established women leaders and rising women professionals to walk together in 10 Nigerian cities including Calabar, Lagos, Ilorin ,Uyo, Kano, Port -Harcourt, Kaduna, Ibadan, Abeokuta & Abuja.

Held on the same day in over 70 countries across the world, the Mentoring Walk unifies the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network  fostering a global community of women to affirm their commitment to women’s leadership through mentoring. This year’s walk will be held Saturday, March 10th 2018 to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The activities for the Global Mentoring Week and Mentoring Walk include:

  1. Digital Business Workshop (Tuesday 6th-Wednesday 7th, March 2018)
  2. Financial Investment Workshop (Thursday 8th, March 2018)
  3. On-board Training for Mentees/Mentors (Friday 9th, March 2018)
  4. Global Mentoring walk (Saturday 10th, March 2018)
  5. Mentoring Dinner & Impact Awards (Sunday 11th, March 2018)
