No Amount of Devilish distraction will stop women in C’River – Linda Ayade

Wife of the  Cross River State Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Linda Ayade and the Director General of Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. (Mrs.) Betta Edu were Special Guest of Honour and speakers at the Woman Africa International Woman missionaries to African Nations prayer conference; theme “Save the women to save the children” Calabar 2017.

Dr. Linda Ayade said she is honoured to be associated with wonderful unique women whose goal is to save and empower women. “I have been empowering women through my Non-governmental organisation (NGO), the Mediatrix Development Foundation, MDF and Cross River Women Empowerment Initiative, CROWEI. Our government will continue to do more.”

According to her, the bigger your anointing, the higher your temptation. “The Devil will try so hard to bring you down by making you pass through serious and unimaginable hard times just to see what you will do, then he begins to offer you the world so you fall for his tricks.”

She noted that only prayers can change things and make you bigger than the devil. She encourages women to take their healthcare serious by shunning faith-based home and traditional birth attendants during delivery as this will go a long way to solve the issue of maternal newborn and infant mortality.

Dr. Edu also charged the women to hold onto God, use every opportunity for empowerment judiciously. “If we succeed we can help out family and society. Women should also use empowerment to gain some economic grounds to help them take charge of their health.”

She spoke on the need to undergo antenatal care at a primary or secondary health facilities before delivery as it would help prevent and strengthened E-MTCT (Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV & AIDS in the State). “When a mother is healthy, then the child is healthy, by saving your self, your child is also saved.”

She urged them to report any form of domestic violence suffered by women or children in their families to Her Excellency NGO “Mediatrix Development Foundation” for proper legal action as the fight against domestic violence remain one of the top priority of her foundation.

Earlier Speaking, The Founder/President of Woman Africa, Rev. (Mrs.) Ijeoma Emeribe said the Organisation is taking actions to improve women’s Health through Gender equality and women Empowerment by creating a sample society and cultural contexts for the Health and well being of women and children and understanding the impact of Empowerment Based intervention on women’s growths and the reduction of intimate partner violence in Africa and beyond is the ultimate goal of calling the women together to pray and forge ahead in that direction.

She said over 3000 Women and Children have so far benefited from her empowerment across the globe and more numbers will be added in Calabar to it.

She call on women to remain steadfast and pray for the development of the State and the country at large.

Special prayers were offered to the State, the Governor, His Excellency, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade and his amiable wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade as they ask God to continue bestow on them wisdom to lead the State to greater heights.
