C’River SUBEB task teachers to resume as schools resumes

The Cross River State Chapter of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB has urged respective staffs and teachers to resume work as schools across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state resumes.

This information was made known in a statement signed by the State SUBEB Chairman, Dr. Stephen Odey. The statement reads thus;

“As primary schools across the State resume today, Monday, 11th September, 2017, we urge all Parents/Guardians to ensure that their children/wards are in School.

“We call on all teaching/non-teaching staff to be at their duty posts and be ever ready and willing to live up to their responsibilities and offer service when and where needed, bearing in mind that, we will not hesitate to mete out disciplinary action on those found wanting.

“We will continue to do our best to ensure that the welfare of teachers and the learning conditions of pupils remains a priority.

“Let us all work together to create a better future for ourselves and our children.”

    The use of threatening language such as the one quoted above by those in authority should be and must be discouraged as it does nothing to positively enhance the morale and productivity of those affected.
