JTF kills notorious armed robber in Calabar (Photos)

Members of the Joint Tax Force (JTF) known as Operation Skolombo has killed a notorious armed robbery suspect, AK 1 in the Bogobiri area of Calabar.

AK 1 as he’s popularly called has been terrorising the axis of the suburb area of Calabar, a place closed the City’s commercial area where business activities usually takes place regularly.

According to Eye witnesses, the suspected robber is a member of a three-man squad known as the AK’s. This 3 have been terrorising the area as they recently made away with the money of one Alhaji, a local currency exchanger on New Year day.

Meanwhile, an army personnel, Capt. Kayode Owolabi, Public Relations Officer of 13 Brigade Nigerian Army, Calabar, has confirmed the incident as he told newsmen in Calabar that the death suspect belongs to a robbery gang of three members.

According to him, Operation Skolombo had received several complaints about the criminal activities of the gang at the Bogobiri area.

The three uses local pistols in terrorising business men at Bogobiri area, a place known for the Hausa/Fulanis in their business of trading local/foreign currencies and other fruits and veggies.

The Captain also confirmed that they have called the police to come over so that they can hand over the corpse to them. Now Bogobiri can be at rest.
