Female Wrestling Contest

To reaffirm the thinking of Cross Riverians and create a new horizon of hopes for today’s youths and the future, Prince God’swill Edward has introduced the Prince7 Abi Yakurr Sports festival.

The event is a 5 Days excellent Sporting activities featuring:

  • Soccer Challenge
  • Lawn Tennis Tournament
  • Table Tennis Competition
  • Wrestling contest
  • Volley Ball Challenge
  • Snooker Bash.

The Basketball exhibition was carried out by the Cross River State Team. There’s also Cultural Dances and other Stage performance taking place every evening, where talents is being discovered on the stage as Eddyliz Sound Studio has promised to further project them by recording their tracks for free.

Music is done by Okpo Recordz, Nick Ben, while comedy is by Whokes, MC Mbakara and Mc Daddy J. The Sports Festival will be crown with a Burn fire night on Christmas Eve.

The event which started on the 20th of December, 2016 is slated to run till the 24th of December 2016, at The Apostolic Primary School, Ijiman, Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area, by 10am daily.

Royal Fathers of the Day includes: HRM OBOL OFEM UBANA ETENG (Obol Lopon of Ugep), and other traditional rulers in Yakurr Local Government Area. HRM OVAI SOLOMON OSIM EDWARD (Ovai USA 1 of Usumutong) and paramount ruler of Abi LGA.

The event is being hosted by Hon. Bassey Ewa (Member Representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency), while the Chief Host of the event is SEN. Prof Ben Ayade (Executive Governor of Cross River State).

The Event is supported by Cross River State Sports Commission, Yakurr Local Government Council, Abi Local Government Council, Cross River State Government, Hon Bassey Ewa (Member Representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency), Honourable Onofiok Luke (Speaker Akwa Ibom State) and Eddyliz Nigeria.
