Ahead of Local Government councils elections, the Honorable commissioner for Niger Delta Development Commission Mr Sylvester Nsa has began building unity of party faithful in preparation for local government councils elections that is due to be held any moment from now.
One of the major problem of APC in Cross River State has been the lack of connect between the leaders of the party and the grassroots. This gap is what the NDDC Commissioner is poised to fill through series of consultation with party leaders in southern senatorial district.
Before now, Mr Sylvester Nsa has met with ward leaders across the southern senatorial district. In his birthday remarks he held that; “elections are fast approaching, we must begin closing ranks, solve internal issues, shop for credible candidate and position ourselves to claim all council seats for APC.
Mr Sylvester Nsa used his birthday celebration to meet with all APC chairmen and Secretary to boast their moral.
In a period of total disconnect of party leaders with the grassroots, Sylvester Nsa seems poised to be a lone voice leading the way towards building for the incoming local government elections.
In a similar manner, Mr Philip Obin, a media consultant and and ICT expert is seeking permission from party leaders to host a meeting with some party leaders in his house. In his exact words he avers: “Dear Comrades, kindly permit me to hold APC general meeting of Erei North and Erei South of Biase LGA, in my house tomorrow. Need to give them information on what the govt has done, plan to do etc. Morale is down and the locals have no direction. Need to boost their morale and give them hope. Will host them in my little capacity. Thanks”
The need to build APC for the forthcoming local government council elections is becoming urgent. Can these actions yield the much needed results?
We congratulate the efforts of these leaders in their bold step towards positioning the party for local government council elections. We also call on leaders of the party across the state to begin similar moves in all the local government area of Cross River State. The time is now, delay is dangerous
