There’s the need for the government of Cross River State to invite diasporians to offer relevant Knowledge. Why am I saying this? Reason; governor Ayade’s words during his campaign tour at Yala LGA h/qtrs hall at Okpoma. His words “I sometimes visit foreign countries for about two weeks period just to observe how things are done there, because everything they do, they do it right “.
Now, if he can visit foreign countries for a brief visit just to learn or see how things are done right, why not he involve cross riverians that are in this foreign countries in his administration?
Many of the foreign based Cross Riverians are highly knowledgeable about how things work right and they will be willing to render their services free of charge as their contributions to their birth state.
Set up a body through the office of the diaspora matters (volunteer with no pay) for Cross Riverians overseas to come together with the home based officials to share their foreign skills, promote international values and action in leadership that the state may be lacking and to build capabilities.
These citizens don’t necessarily have to return back to cross river state to render their voluntary help, they can coordinate from their various countries .
Note; this post does not in anyway discredit our brothers and sisters in the government, it is often said that two heads are better than one. A foreign idea + local idea put together will not be a bad idea.
To those that look at everyone as seeking for a job or contract if you write a post, please am not looking for anything from the government of cross river state and the federal government of Nigeria.
