CRS Flags-off Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week at PHC Ikot Ansa in Calabar

The Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW) Exercise in Cross River State Comes up from 12th December – 16th Dec, 2016 across the 18 LGAs. The days are set aside to reach children under 5 years and pregnant women with Vitamin A Supplement and other routine health services.

During the exercise the following interventions will be carried out: Vitamin A, Albendazole, Zinc/ORS, MUAC, Birth registration, Routine immunization for children, while BP Check, PMTCT Services, testing/treatment for malaria and LLINs distribution, Iron folate, Folic acid and SP for pregnant women and key household practices.

The strategy for the exercise is fixed and mobile fixed post. The health teams will be at the Health Facilities, Schools, Churches, Markets, Villages to offer serviced.

Mothers, Care givers are expected take their children, wards to the nearest Health Centre or any post close to them to receive the services.
