The Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, has said to be appointed, UN Deputy Secretary General, as she’s set to resume office on January 1st, 2017.
According to the information gathered by Calabar Reporters, Mrs. Mohammed was appointed minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in November last year.
While we Nigerians are yet to celebrate, an official statement is expected to confirm her new UN position.
She is expected to be the deputy to Antonio Guterres, who will assume office as Secretary General of the world body next month.
Mohammed had formerly served as an adviser to the outgoing UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
Good news for Nigeria and we hope her office brings the expected change to Nigeria.
