Founder of A’Ibom collapsed church went on with his Bishopric ordination in another venue

The founder of the Collapsed church in Akwa Ibom State, Apostle Akan Week, has went ahead with his Bishopric ordination in another venue despite scores of 200 people recorded death in his church yesterday. Sources said.

Reigners Bible Church, a new generation church located at Uyo village Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital vanquished yesterday when the ordination of a new Bishop was about room be crowned. The Collapsed church according to news has more than 200 people seeing the other world with the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel escaping death after being saved by his allies.

Meanwhile one Engr. Ekpeobong Okon who’s been glorifying God through his testimonies says, “How I crawled out alive… I don’t know.

“How the steel roof stopped falling just centimetres above my head without touching me… I don’t know.
How I was pushed to the floor from behind by an unknown force to avoid being hit by the iron… I don’t know.

“At that moment, I saw my life in a flash
At that moment, I no longer cared about anything but where will I be in the next split of seconds – Heaven or Hell?
At that moment I told myself “OH!!! It is finished”
How do I forget that young man that died right in my arms?

“How do I forget that woman that was trapped under the steel roof and she kept calling me “bro! please don’t leave, please help me, please dont leave me” and for the fear of being hit again” I turned my back and the voice was still calling…

“I tried to sleep last night but each time I close my eyes it felt like I was right inside the building again looking at the roof as it was descending with a loud voice and rain and the sound of those souls screaming JESUS and all of a sudden the voices were no longer heard…

“They call it post whatever they wish to but I know HE SAVED ME AND HIS GRACE KEPT ME!
THANK YOU JESUS!” he concluded.

Also many have shared their condolence messages to the families of the demise. Inyali Peter, a social commentator said, “I share in the sorrow of Akwa Ibom state and all the families who loss their loved ones to the tragic collapse of a Church building yesterday. I pray that may God almighty give them the grace and fortitude to bear the loss.

“However, the rate at which churches are collapsing over the past few years in Nigeria is becoming worrisome and very abnormal. Why always church? The most shocking aspect is that in all these, the church founders and members of their families have gone unhurt. I think there’s more to this than meet the eyes.

“As part of measures to address this, I want to strongly advice that the federal ministry of works and housing through the states ministry of works should set up a monitoring team that should regulate churches against accommodating more people than the capacity of the building. I’m not an architect but I know that every building is designed to contain a certain number of people.

“And in a situation where any church want to expand existing structure, there should be proper monitoring to access and ensure that the foundation should be restructured to be able to carry the building. We can’t fold our hands and continue to watch thousands of Nigerians die for nothing.

“The most annoying part of it all is that, I leant the founder changed venue and went ahead with the bishopric ordination. What an insensitive decision.” He added.

On other hand, Saint Luke Hospital Anua is better closed down than existing but refused to always attend to emergencies. Its totally unacceptable for the Hospital to reject injured victims from the Collapsed Reigners Bible Church building.
