Cross River State Government does not appreciate it’s Talents

#TheVoiceNigeria2016 contestant and first runner-p

I have wondered why Cross River Governor Ben Ayade has relegated talents and craftsmanship available in the State. Not only is Cross River State a tourism destination, over time Cross River State has been a State with “Style.”

It was that talent and style the places Cross River State on top of her peers. Not surprising, Cross River State had four contestants in the #VoiceNigeria2016 contest. Conel came from Yala in the Northern Senatorial District. Osuwake Michael came from Yakurr in the Central Senatorial District, and Patrick Shadow and Nonso came from the Southern Senatorial District.

Cross River State was the only State to be represented with 4 great talents that made the State proud. I have been waiting and watching keenly to see the kind of reception government would give these bunch of talented people. But til now, the government has not extended a handshake to these persons who sold the image of the State in far away South Africa.

It was a show that brought the world attention to Nigeria, and Cross River State in particular, because Cross River State dominated the performances. Conel, Nonso, and Patrick Shadow made it to battle.

But the remarkable performance of Patrick saved him when he got a “STEAL” from Waje. Patrick Shadow will go all out to mesmerize the world with his performances to a standing ovation by the crowd and judges whenever he performs.

Although the battle to be the number one “VoiceOfNigeria2016 was fierce, Patrick Shadow was one of the top 5, losing to a contestant from Lagos. Patrick is now an Airtel Ambassador and has gone on to release his first single.

It would have been great if the Governor had found some time to appreciate these 4 talented contestants who represented Cross River State in the #TheVoiceNigeria2016. A handshake goes a long way to boost their confidence as Cross Riverians.

Organisers of the Miss Africa 2016 Cross River State Climate Change Pageantry should have found a performance slot for all of them instead of bringing Kiss Daniel.

Little things matters.
