The Wise Up Zone is finally opened to all Cross Riverians in line to forfeit the state’s vision of zero (0) HIV/AIDS infection and contraction in 2020 – 2030. This will also reduce the rate of infections among the youths, a quarter of which is about fifty six thousand (56,000) according to 2012 pool.
The Wise Up Zone is sponsored by Mediatrix Development Foundation (MDF), Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS) with support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (CRSPHCDA), Cross River State Ministry of Health, and other relevant MDAs.
Opened at the tent were the Tattoo Zone, the HCT Zone, Condom Zone and the Youth Advocate stage. Also, The campaign will involve condom demonstration, access to condoms, referrals, interpersonal communications, music, dancing, games, graphics design, tattoo parlor and HCT.
Presents at the handing over were ECEWS Program Officer, Mr Asuquo Etuk, UNFPA Communication Advisor, Mr Adebola Adejo, Carnival Commission Chairman and others.
