Pastor Usani should leave Okoi Obono-obla alone

Recently, Pastor Usani visited Calabar and hosted the Governor of Cross River State in what could be described as ‘thanksgiving’.

It’s remarkable that Pastor Usani emerged a minister despite his uneasy friendship and period of chaos, confusion and uncertainty in the state’s APC.

Little wonder why he took to celebrate only when it seems there’s no questioning the fact that Pastor Usani is the only celebrant, most prosperous Presidential Aide, or one of the most favored politician in Cross River APC.

Although, joy is priceless, it has medicinal qualities. The Bible says: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Proverbs 17:22

Okoi Obono-OBLA seem divinely blessed and worthy to be envied. As I always say, the Niger Delta Ministry or Cross River’s problem has never cost Ps. USANI one sleepless night. Invariably, this provided the probable opportunity for PDP Senators of Cross Riverian extraction to engage in expanding their insignificant influence in the red carpet chamber to halt their age long detractor and dissenter. Infact, their intrigue is no less relevant or cardinal to the ideals of the Think Cross River Project.

The quickening power of the indwelling Christ and the Holy Spirit gives us the grace to lead a New Life that is pleasing unto God and
men.

Pastor Usani had boasted to his allies when he was asked about the travails of Chief Obla’s NCC non-Confirmation at the Senate, as he retorted: ‘I have not started yet, I will ensure, Okoi is dismissed
from the Presidency. He taught he could be minister, I am Minister of FRN. Nobody made me what I am today, save my good relationship and old contact with former military administrators of CRS. I will reduce him to nothing, he said he knows the president, why am I the minister? if he claims to be a smart politician.

When I heard this from his close ally who hails from my community, I wondered whether, Pastor Usani lived a transformed life because, being right with God and living godly are intertwined.

The tactics pursued by Pastor Usani since Chief was nominated for appointment represents his ‘old, treacherous, and rediculous self’ than a civilizing mission in his politics and grand strategy. He (Usani), in his attempt to wreck Chief Okoi’s name reconciled with notable key men in Ugep and Abi, the likes of Chief Wilfred Inah and Alex Egbonna to mastermind a halfway pitfall against Barr. Obla.

Pastor Usani till date is obsessed with how best to woo loyalist and courtiers in Chief Obla’s camp. In-group fighting that is uncalled for and totally unnecessary has characterized the politics in Yakurr
Chapter APC where the duo dominate.

While, Chief Okoi has taken to the duty of meeting the needs of his courtiers and followers through car and bike gifts, financial handouts and empowering the party, Pastor Usani is yet to awaken from slumber… It’s unfathomable and spiritually questionable that Usani will allow personal interest and issues which for various reasons do not concern
us here, to inhibit Cross River’s share of the national cake and give APC a wavering and warring reputation.

What motivates the entire people as a community, is the degree of representation we can boast of, at the national level – as the resulting disqualification of Obla demands urgent attention and accelerated vital reconciliation and synergy for the interest of CRS.

It’s the attitudes, materialism and the extent to which one is spirit-filled, inspiring and ethusiastic about solving problems that relays our degree of Godliness and vision. The challenge is to be sincere to ourselves and mull over the reality, depth and quality of our hearts and life towards others. It’s worrisome, that many called themselves Christians, without
wholesome, observable characteristics of salvaging people and issues. If only our hearts ‘re genuine and longing for compassion in the community, form the social base of our political aspirations in a way that prefigures the national situation, dilemnas and commitments of politicians from onset with non-violent efforts other than demoralise and fictionalised our community with full scale revolt, intrigues and back-stabbing.

History can’t be forgotten in a haste. Pastor Usani may not have killed Usuaya and lately Ayei Obono {erst-while Chapter Chairman, YAKURR APC) but might have feared them dead via emotional trauma and hounding.

Paul fears that some may twist his statement of Romans 5:20…..”but where sin increased, grace abounds all the more”. So, some might say (by distortion) “Then let us sin more and more that
grace may abide more and more.
