The Cross River State Police Command have confirmed that they have arrested 6 looters popularly known as ‘One Chance’ in Calabar, the Cross River State capital on Wednesday.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Irene Ugbo confirmed the information in a phone call saying, “When we were alerted by their (One Chance) victims, we tracked them down swiftly and fortunately we caught up with them at the Highways.
“The Angry Mob present almost burn them with their taxi vehicle, but we acted very fast to stop them to prevent jungle justice, as people do say.
“They were stripped and taken to our custody at the State Police Command Headquarters, Diamond Hill, Calabar for further investigations,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ifere Paul has reported that the apprehended looters were kidnappers from Enugu and Delta states, sent to kidnap people in Calabar before they were arraigned by mobs.
The looter were made up of a group of 6 adults consisting of 5 men and a lady. The lady’s name was given as Jenifer Abel while other names were withheld. They were stripped completely of their wears and bitten into blood as seen in the below photos.
Mrs. Ugbo sent a warning message to the general public, advising everyone to be careful of the kind of taxi they use during this festive periods, for they do not know how many they are out there.
